I'm Zlatko!

I'm a photographer based in Cresskill in Bergen County, New Jersey, about 15 miles from midtown Manhattan. I specialize in weddings, events and portraits.

My photographs are characterized by genuine emotion, strong composition and elegant detail. Please see my blog for examples of some recent work. My publications page shows some of my published work (including weddings in The Knot, Modern Bride and New Jersey Bride).

I majored in philosophy at the University of Chicago, where my studies included photography, art history and aesthetics. I'm also a graduate of Cornell Law School. While at Cornell, I had an exhibit of my fine art photography and served as co-editor of the law school's student newspaper.

I practiced law in New Jersey and New York, but being a creative type at heart, I eventually moved to photograph full-time. I credit my career change to a 4-day workshop in Atlanta back in 2002 with Denis Reggie, the world-renowned wedding photojournalist called "the best in the business" by Oprah. I've attended other workshops and seminars since then, but none have changed my life and my work as much as Denis's.

I'm very pleased to be a member and co-founder of Group of 10, a group of photographers dedicated to providing exceptional wedding photography. I've also photographed for the Heart Gallery of New Jersey, a photography project and exhibit dedicated to helping foster children get adopted.

All of my photography is on location, so I don't maintain a studio. Like many photographers today, I'm fortunate to be able to work from home. My web site is my gallery, and my Macs are my darkroom.
